Preserving land to protect water with you!
Are you looking to make a difference and have fun, too?
Volunteers are the heart and soul of local conservation.
The lakes need all of us to help and there are many ways to do just that. People from as young as 10 years of age and as sies as 90 years old, are volunteering to enhance the health of the lakes and inspire others to care like they do.
If you are interested in volunteering, please read the descriptions below and contact Elizabeth at ElizabethM@nwlt-mn.org.
We are always looking for inspiring photos of the lands, waters, and wildlife around northern Minnesota and people and wildlife interacting with the land and water, to feature on social media, in our newsletter, and other forms of outreach.
Each year we work with talented volunteers to grow our library of photos, with an emphasis on how people are interacting with the land and water in addition to the stunning beauty of the landscape. Contact us.
If you like meeting people, setting up and breaking down displays, handing out materials, and welcoming people, we’d love for you to join us.
Outreach events include tabling at community events, presenting to civic groups, and fundraisers.
These vary each year, so check our Events page here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for upcoming events you might want to volunteer for.
We periodically are looking for people who can lead a variety of workshops that will inspire the love of the land, encourage ways to enhance water quality, convey what’s special about the region, and connect people to nature.
Examples include how to take terrific photos of nature; ways to manage woodlands for soil health, water quality, climate resilience, and wildlife and their habitat; birding...
Feel free to email Elizabeth: ElizabethM@nwlt-mn.org if you’d like to brainstorm about an idea.
Depending on the year, talented professionals donate their services to conserve, and celebrate, the special places in northern Minnesota.
Opportunities may exist for surveyors, writers, photographers, educators, and others who wish to help further our conservation and programming work.
If you'd like to share your expertise for conservation, contact us.
GET THE WORD OUT
If you would rather stay inside, yet play a role in conservation, we have a job for you.
We need your assistance with sending out mailings to get the word out about our programs, funding conservation projects, or updates related to a specific conservation needs in the region.
Stuffing and sealing envelopes, and other small projects in the office, are great ways to help make a difference. It’s also a great way to get to know our staff. Contact us.
JOIN A COMMITTEE
Share your talents by joining a committee. Northern Waters Land Trust has two committees that meet monthly.
